Monoclonal Facility Supervisor

Scantibodies Laboratory, Inc.one of San Diego's largest Biotech Companies is looking for a Monoclonal Facility Supervisor for the Ramona facility.

Summary: 

Supervise all animal handler, laboratory support, and laboratory technician personnel.  Responsible for ensuring that all work is performed and completed as directed by ranch manager and monoclonal production schedule in accordance with written SOP’s.  Responsible for ensuring all equipment and facilities are maintained clean/organized and in excellent working condition.

 

Essential Duties:



Ensure that all work is performed and completed following all cGMP and ISO guidelines.



Ensure that animal care is provided as set forth by the USDA, The Guide for Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, attending veterinarians, and ranch manager.



Provide daily direction to all animal handlers, laboratory support, and laboratory technician personnel.



Maintain accurate and detailed documentation for all laboratory animals, blood products, and ascites fluid.



Maintain laboratory equipment and documentation ensuring that all calibrations and preventative maintenance issues are completed on or before date due.

 



Ensure that all personnel are adequately trained in the duties they are required to perform.



Write proposals for large purchases, repairs and improvement issues.



Ensure all supplies required for department are maintained in stock.



Complete annual performance appraisals for direct reports.



Other related duties as requested





Equipment Used:

Personal computer

General office equipment

Laboratory equipment

Equipment used in regards to the phlebotomy of the animals.

Operate company vehicles.

 

Job Specifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid California drivers license and clean DMV required.  AALAS certification preferred.  A minimum of 5 years laboratory animal experience is required.  A minimum of two years supervisor experience is required.  Must be able to work with minimum supervision, multi task, prioritize and meet deadlines. 

 

Working Conditions/Physical & Mental Demands:

Fast paced work environment.  This position requires strong ability to perform detailed and accurate work in a busy laboratory environment.  Some lifting, pushing and pulling with upper and lower body of objects in excess of 50 lbs is required.
