Nutraceutical Research Specialist

Ortho Molecular Products is adding the position of Nutraceutical Research Specialist to the Science & Regulatory department.  This will help us expand upon the scientific foundation we have built over the past 10 years. This position is located in the beautiful Central Wisconsin city of Stevens Point. The Nutraceutical Research Specialist would be a front-line resource for product and ingredient information for both internal and external customers. The role would involve gaining expert understanding of current nutraceutical/dietary supplement products and ingredients for use in clinical practice and disseminating this expertise through consultation using verbal and written skills.

 Responsibilities:

· Keeping current with published research (basic, applied, clinical) involving the use of nutraceuticals, diet, and alternative medical modalities

· Summarize research in monographs and reviews.

· Educate sales team and clinicians on the use of dietary supplements in clinical practice

· Advise product development team for product improvements and new product formulations

· Attend and interact at appropriate scientific and industry meetings

· Provide updates for Improved Website

· Advise marketing department on science and regulatory text where needed

Special Skills Required:

· Individual would have an advanced degree specific to this field (Master’s level in Nutrition (or related field) with an emphasis on the use of dietary supplements in clinical practice; Naturopathic degree (ND) with clinical experience etc.) Experience in the research and writing of literature specific to this field is required. The ability to speak authoritatively to large groups of clinicians is also preferred.

· Individual should have advanced knowledge in the application of nutritional supplements for clinical application. They should be able to read all levels of published literature and be able to help make decisions based on scientific rationale. They should be familiar with diagnostic and treatment techniques for a wide-range of alternative medicine modalities. They should be familiar with internet medical databases, Word, PowerPoint, and Reference Manager software.  Skills in Web-page updating a plus.
