OrthoNeutrogena division of Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, Inc. markets skin and hair care products recommended, used and prescribed by dermatologists. Neutrogena Corporation is seeking an Operator I to perform basic, repetitive and non-repetitive production or packaging line work. This individual will perform setup, operation and control of production and/or packaging machinery. This individual will be responsible for complying to Neutrogena's policies, procedures, quality standards and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), as well as safety and environmental regulations. The Operator I will monitor production and/or packaging operations and perform troubleshooting. The Operator I will be responsible for completing line sheets, calculating minimum and maximum weights and torques, downtime log sheets, batch records and reconciliation forms. This individual will also be responsible to conduct first piece and line clearance inspections, complete quality checks, maintain specification requirements, analyze recordings and statistics, adjust equipment to meet specifications, perform frequent quality inspections and document the inspections, train line personnel on quality specifications for the product currently in production, and report decisions, problems, and questions to Team Leader in a timely manner. The Operator I will maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhere to principles of First In First Out (FIFO) and Lock Out Tag Out (LOGO), and effectively perform shift changeovers. While performing the duties of this job, this individual will frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or higher is required. A minimum of 3 months of manufacturing operation and/or Distribution/Warehousing experience is required. Experience with SAP is preferred. Experience in a regulatory environment is preferred. Experience using basic workshop tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches is required. Proficiency with computers is required. This candidate will able to contribute to a productive and cooperative atmosphere, show commitment to team objectives, handle day-to-day work challenges and manage multiple tasks and competing demands. This candidate will be able to speak and write clearly and concisely in English, listen carefully and seek clarification. This candidate will be able to create documents that are complete and accurate and serve as an expert on job and procedures. This candidate will work in an environment where the noise level is usually loud. This candidate will perform repetitive and non-repetitive work. While performing the duties of this job, this candidate will be required to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time, use hands and fingers, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, talk or hear. This candidate will frequently be required to reach with hands and arms, push and pull objects, and to move within and between the buildings. The candidate will occasionally be required to crouch or crawl and must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This candidate must be able to view objects closely and use a computer terminal to access, input, and retrieve data. This position is 3 rd Shift from 10:00PM until 6:00AM, may require mandatory overtime or weekend work and is located at Neutrogena in Los Angeles, CA.
