Optical Research Engineer - Optical Systems Group

Due to growth, we are seeking an Optical Research Engineer who will serve as a project research engineer on a number of R&D projects in optics spanning from fiber optic sensor and system development to imaging. Successful candidate will have a bent for innovation and problem solving and a vision to support technology development from inception to late-stage prototyping. Successful candidate will also demonstrate substantial technical innovation, discovery, initiative, problem solving, and both theoretical and hands-on technical skills. Knowledge and use of bulk optics, fiber optics, and electro-optics is required.   Programming experience is highly desirable (Matlab, Labview, C, C++,).  Desired areas of technical expertise include but are not limited to: modeling and design of optical components and systems, system integration, statistical design of experiments, practical experimental design and set-up, and data processing.  Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in research and development projects is highly desirable.

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Physics with a focus in optics, or related field, is required.  Three or more years of experience in optics R&D is desired.

Due to the nature of our work on government contracts, U.S Citizenship or permanent residency is required.
