NETWORK SECURITY ANALYST
Under the leadership of WT IS Program Manager, the Network Security Analyst will perform technical assessments, analysis, and remediation activities in support of complex mid-tier software and hardware systems comprised of many technical components
 
This function is responsible for assessing Network Security and infrastructure across the Pfizer enterprise.  This function will apply broad Network analysis skills and will operate interdependently in ambiguous situations across functional business areas.
 
The candidate will work closely with System architects, infrastructure engineers, Line IT technologists, and project managers to ensure the viability, performance and security of existing Pfizer Network perimeters. This includes:

·Working with Pfizer staff to selectively label outbound rules and insert new logging rules where appropriate-e.g. Internet,  Backend DMZ, Internal DMZ
·Log selected outbound rules for a period of time for each group of services
  -DNS/NTP
  -Web Traffic
  -Remote Control (Telnet, SSH, pcAnywhere, etc)
  -FTP
  -High Ports
·Perform analysis for each group of services to identify active users
·Identify App/Server owners for each IP address in the Firewall logs
·Contact App/Server owners to determine need for outbound connection
·Draft and deliver recommendations for Optimization

Qualifications: 
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Network communications/analysis/security is desirable or related field and 5 years progressive relevant experience
 
DESIRABLE: Masters in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related field and 5 years relevant IT design and engineering experience
 
MINIMUM:
3 years progressive experience in middle tier technologies including exceptional skills in the area of evaluating Network Security, Firewalls and related mechanisms.
 
Demonstrated experience successfully delivering information technologies business solutions for large-scale global applications across multiple hardware and software platforms with demonstrated competency in:

• Solid understanding in Networks, Firewalls, Routers, IP Filters, reverse proxy, and DMZ setting.
• Familiarity or related work experience with: Internet host/network services including but not limited to: Web servers (http, SSL, Apache, Tomcat, IPlanet, etc.), Application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, Sun One, etc), Databases (Oracle/MS SQL Server) and Java/.Net technologies.
• Ability to independently research and plan appropriate solutions to meet project requirements on time and in budget with an eye for maintainability and availability.
• Experience in online operations with exposure to technologies such as clustering and load balancers to achieve high availability in global, large scale environment.
• Disciplined, detail oriented and well organized with a strong background in operational methodology.
• Familiar with J2EE and Microsoft’s .NET software development framework.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced Operations environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to interface and work with varied positions and levels of technical knowledge both within the department and with other departments in the company.
• Must foster a collaborative and collegial atmosphere within a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
• Strong oral/written communication skills.
 
HIGHLY DESIRABLE:
7+ years experience delivering pharmaceutical systems with emphasis in Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals or R&D. Experienced in IT System Life Cycles requiring highly regulated global health authority standards.
 
3+ years experience in delivering technology and information enterprise architectures in Pharmaceuticals industry
 
OTHER ATTRIBUTES DESIRABLE:
Demonstrated experience working with key industry IT standards bodies/forums in driving standards and interoperability
