Recruit new staff members as needed. Communicate and implement company and departmental goals and objectives.  Measure results against those goals and objectives. Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to accomplish the manufacture and testing of specified products on schedule and within consistent company quality and cost standards. Coordinate and develop short and long range production schedules with Production Planning. Work with Production Planning to develop timely and accurate documentation of production data. Formulate and administer departmental budgets.  Work with cross-functional teams to prepare for new product launches and improve production procedures. Review progress of each production assignment to ensure conformance to time, yield, cost and quality standards. Evaluate protocols for ongoing improvement. Establish and monitor a maintenance program to ensure the cleaning of the department’s equipment, instruments, and facility. Remain technically competent and keep current in the new developments within the industry.
