PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

GENERAL SUMMARY 

 

The Production Supervisor will direct, motivate and train production personnel to meet corporate goals.  Generate and update procedures, review documentation, communicate and coordinate with external and internal support to ensure that we supply our customers with a high quality product.  Meet schedules and keep costs under control.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Examine production schedules, then work with purchasing, stock room and quality to ensure an even flow of parts are available to meet schedule.  Interact with engineering, documentation, and quality control to determine all product details are accurate. Work with manager to determine the labor required to meet build schedules. Hands on work in assembly in the disposable and instrumentation manufacturing areas as needed to meet production schedules.Ensure staff is properly trained and that training records are accurate.  Provide feedback to employees on performance, including conducting formal performance appraisals as directed by management.Create and update manufacturing procedures.  Evaluate all blueprints and bill of materials for new products, document change orders, special order requests and deviations to ensure that they are accurate, concise and user friendly.Work with the assemblers/technicians on the layout of the disposable and instrumentation manufacturing areas to enable high productivity and provide a safe working environment.  Develop and enforce safety procedures.  Maintain a current and complete Safety Data File.Verify that the weekly time cards are accurate and ensure labor hours are entered in the MAX system.

Monitor all shop supplies and bin items to ensure proper quantities are available to support production requirements.Assess personnel requirements, interview applicants, recommend proper individual for employment as need arises.  Review vacation requests trying to accommodate each employee in a fair manner while continuing to meet the production schedule.Other duties as assigned within area of responsibility.

 EDUCATION AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

 

Education: Two year degree.

 

Experience: Minimum three to five years of assembly experience and three years of experience as a group leader/supervisor.  Prior experience in clean room manufacturing is desirable.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

· Clean room manufacturing environment.

· Small office conditions with standard office equipment, computer, copier, fax and phone.

· Use of computer terminal requiring frequent mental and visual attention.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality with issues at all times.
