Packaging Operator

• Ensure safe work environment by following all safety and ergonomic rules applying to a particular process or area.

• Operate low or high speed automatic packaging line machinery/equipment and branding equipment as needed.

• Handle such items as glass and plastic containers; load cartons, labels, and circulars into machines; clear jams and clean machine and work area as needed or scheduled.

• Observe and be responsible for proper operation of equipment.

• Inspect both in process and packaged drug products for packaging batch number, expiration date, shipper numbers to ensure quality assurance standards.

• Accurately complete packaging orders and all other production related paperwork in a timely manner.

• Adhere to schedule attainment requirements.

• Train other new Sr. Packaging Operators.

• In certain areas/departments, cross-train on other equipment as needed. • Comply with all CGMP standards.

• Perform Department and Line cleanings as required by SOP’s.

 

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Demonstrated ability to work safely in a production environment.

• Must be able to demonstrate a mathematical aptitude. Skills required (addition/subtraction/multiplication/ division, metric system).

• Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or standard operating procedures (SOP) environment required. Previous packaging experience preferred.

• Computer skills: Must have basic or good computer skills.
