Patent Agent

Essential Functions: The selected candidate will be responsible for patent prosecution of cutting-edge life sciences inventions – specifically those involving small molecule bio-, organic, and inorganic chemistry. The patent agent will work on all aspects of patent prosecution including preparing responses and drafting patent applications, in close connection with their business and scientific colleagues. Further, as a member of Invitrogen's intellectual property strategy team, the selected candidate will contribute to important strategic patent procurement and enforcement decisions. Requirements: We are looking for a person that has strong technical ability, with preference for a PhD or equivalent work experience, and who has at least 1 year of experience in all aspects of patent prosecution, including drafting patent applications and Office Action responses.
