The Lab Associate (LA) performs all duties related to serving as a lab technician for the Early Drug Development, Phase II-IV, and Sleep Departments. This position reports to the Laboratory Supervisor.Major ResponsibilitiesIncluding but not limited to the following and other duties as may be assigned:' Possesses detailed knowledge of study protocol lab procedures.' Collects, processes and ships safety labs and pharmacokinetic (PK) samples according to clinical study protocol.' Organizes hospital lab set-up and supplies (i.e., racks, logs, dry, ice, shipping supplies).' Assists with daily lab supply list per protocol in conjunction with the Senior Lab Associate.' QAs tube/container labels before and after specimen collection.' Schedules lab specimen pickup.' Contacts CRC/SCRC/Manager to confirm arrival of specimen shipments. ' Attends EDD/Phase II-IV/Sleep Dept. Meetings as appropriate.' Acts as lab technician for EDD/Phase II-IV/Sleep Departments.' Assists EDD Department with documentation (i.e., CRFs, lab requisitions, etc.).' Performs routine upkeep of lab. ' Maintains and updates knowledge of Clinical Operating Guidelines and their proper application.All other duties as assigned.Qualifications (List minimum work experience, educational background, professional licenses, certifications and skills required to perform the job):Valid Phlebotomy Certification or a California State License.Valid CPR Certification.1-2 years hospital/lab phlebotomy experience.Computer proficiency required.Flexible schedule.Local travel required: valid California Driver's License and/or reliable transportation.Ability to lift up to thirty (30) lbs.Competencies and Best Practice for High Performers:Meticulous attention to detail.Strong interpersonal, written/verbal communication and organizational skills.
