Phlebotomist

Talecris Plasma Resources specialize in the collection of human plasma used in therapies that help people everywhere maintain and enhance their quality of life. We currently have openings for Phlebotomists in Amarillo, Texas.

Position Description

1. Set-up and prepare all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures.
2. Perform plasma collection.
3. Operate the automated plasmapheresis machines including response and evaluation of all autopheresis troubleshooting displays, documentation of exceptions, etc..
4. Monitor donors and equipment operations to ensure health of donor and quality of product.
5. Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.
6. Oversee and ensure proper sanitation and cleaning of equipment and work area between donors.
7. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of necessary records, including Donor Room Logs.
8. Ensure donor confidentiality.
9. Maintain thorough familiarity with all State and Federal Regulations, the FDA approved Standard Operating Procedure Manual, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and internal company procedures.
10. Report all unsafe situations or conditions to supervisor or lead phlebotomist.


Position Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Candidate must be proficient in English, and where applicable, bi-lingual. Medical experience preferred. Customer service skills are required. Ability to understand and follow protocol is required.  Bilingual (Spanish/English) encouraged to apply.
