Sales/Retail/Business Development Reference Code: 704512 Platform Manager - Beauty - (Job Number: 0805432) DescriptionJohnson & Johnson Sales and Logistics Company, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Platform Manager to support the Beauty product group. This position can be based in either Skillman, NJ or Los Angeles, CA. The Platform Manager - Beauty is responsible for creating and deploying a cohesive, coordinated plan to deliver new marketing platforms and to enhance existing platforms that proactively address stakeholder priorities within budgetary, schedule and product group/company boundaries. The incumbent creates and maintains documentation for scope, POA or roadmap, business and technical requirements and builds consensus among stakeholders in support of platform strategies. The Platform Manager also negotiates trade-offs when opportunities present themselves that require a change of plan or altered priorities across product group/company boundaries within platforms. Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Leading the Beauty integrated business process; perform merchandising responsibilities including leading the strategy and development of distribution priorities; Provide support and strategic direction to key customer teams during category reviews; Perform cross-category SKU rationalization and price increases; Lead analysis of promotional vehicles; Lead trade funding; Serve as liaison between the customer and brand group/company marketers in the development and management of a specific marketing platform or group of platforms by creating platform requirements, overseeing budgets, and ensuring the delivery of value added solutions that support the achievement of both customer and company business objectives; Tracking and monitoring return on investment of funds applied to execute plans within the marketing platform; Translating business requirements into marketing strategies that deliver to customer expectations and requirements, while aligning to brand group and company OGSM; Coordinating the activities of sales team members who are executing platform plans at the customer level to leverage resources and maximize return on investment of marketing funding; Support best practice go-to-market strategy executions with sound and consistent processes and communicates strategy to the field; Maintain documentation in support of various marketing platforms to ensure compliance to agreed-to plans, track business agreements and ensure timely delivery of services from outside vendors and service providers; Identify best in class marketing strategies and ensure that these are incorporated into and leveraged within marketing platforms to increase value to the customer and to J&J; Serving as a source of reference to the field and to marketing and marketing research on plan and platform deployment, successes and failures by sharing lessons learned; Monitoring, assessing and reporting on trends in the marketplace which can impact the platform strategy; Conduct research at the consumer and customer level to determine platform positioning and status; Track and analyze sales metrics at a category level for internal and external purposes; Support the field sales execution of customer specific business plans and category initiatives, including customer sales calls, to increase understanding of the platform or to gather trends and requirements from the field. A minimum of a 4-yr degree is required. A minimum of 5 years of prior sales experience to include a combination of direct selling and category management/analysis in a Consumer Packaged Goods environment is required. At least 2 years of direct selling experience is required. Beauty experience is a plus. Must be able to positively influence decision-makers up and down one or more levels, with and without authority, to achieve business objectives and ensure a fully-aligned customer/company business plan. Recognized as a leader by customers, team members and internal business partners. Demonstrates effective communication and negotiation skills to solve problems, gain agreement with and inform others, while targeting long-term objectives. Uses facts and data analysis to identify good options and make/implement good decisions. Ability to create fact-based presentations to translate sales objectives into customer strategy and business plans around distribution, merchandising, promotion and planogram placement. Ability to devise and deliver persuasive presentations, based on data-driven insights and facts, to gain support for business strategies or initiatives, both with customers and internal business partners. Demonstrates and effectively applies consumer industry and cross-category knowledge & expertise. Serves as liaison between the customer, team counterparts and internal support team members to foster a culture of growth and collaboration. Represents the face of the company to the trade and the voice of customer to the company. Penetrates the appropriate customer and internal functions to achieve maximum results on sales objectives. Acts with urgency to make the most of opportunities, address customer needs and accomplish goals and objectives including the launch of new items with excellence on speed to market and store penetration with maximum shelf presence for the opportunity. Ability to complete projects and follow processes to manage results including volume achievement. Ability to plan tactics to support broader company and brand objectives. Ability to manage funds and resources for the greatest return on investment for the company. Able to identify and assess risk and prioritize competing demands for resources of time and money and apply resources to maximize profitable sales. Ability to accurately forecast and predict business results.
