PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

 

The Portfolio Development Manager (PDM) will champion the development, organization, and valuation of all Stage Gate Projects for the Novozymes Biologicals business worldwide.  This individual will:

 

·  Serve as the primary point of contact for proposing new Stage Gate Projects.

·  Actively support Project Teams in the Stage Gate development process as the Team’s Project Manager.

·  Develop individual Stage Gate Project status reports.

·  Consolidate reporting for all Stage Gate Projects on a monthly basis.

·  Assist in the development of project justifications for new Stage Gate Projects.

 

The PDM may function as Project Leader for all Stage Gate projects, assisting Team Leaders in overall project management, driving cross-functional alignment, and reporting on each project’s status to appropriate management groups.  Additionally, this individual will maintain a master Product Portfolio including key milestones for each project and ensure Stage Gate reviews are completed per the overall program schedule. 

 

This individual will serve as in-house expert on project management in general and the Stage Gate process in particular, and will provide training and consulting on the processes as well as assess the value of external innovation scouting opportunities that may be of strategic value to the business.

 

RequirementsB.A./B.S. in Business Administration, Marketing, or applicable discipline with a science concentration/minor; or B.A./B.S. in Biology, Microbiology or applicable discipline with marketing concentration/minor; MBA a plus with Marketing or applicable Science undergraduate degree.5+ years Stage Gate project management experience. 3-5 years Product Management experience. Expertise in project management tools, techniques, financial evaluation, and leadership.Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and cross-functionally, both orally and in writing.Ability to direct, coordinate and influence others for whom you are not directly responsible maintaining positive relationships and driving results.Good judgment and problem-solving skills.Must be proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project.  Experience with other project management tools preferred.Must have the drive and initiative to work with a minimum of supervision and guidance self-managing work load.Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills.Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 10%).  Ability to work in the US without sponsorship.
