Pricing Manager, Retail Business Development Work Location: Not ApplicableShifts: Not ApplicablePositions Available: 1Position Summary Under general direction of the Executive Director, Retail Generics Business Development, responsible for development and oversight of pricing and competitive assessment programs for the retail generics sales channel. Pricing responsibilities include but not limited to customer segmentation, channel pricing strategy, new product launch pricing, telesales promotional activity, pricing impact analysis, price responsiveness activities, and pricing profitability. Competitive responsibilities include but not limited to the gathering and organization of competitive pricing and program information and materials, monthly/ ad-hoc competitive reporting/ communication, market share analysis, quarterly competitive assessment processes, the development of competitive selling aids, and in conjunction with Sales and Marketing, the development of generics program marketing/ customer facing materials. Travel requirements – 15%. Primary Duties and Responsibilities In working with Global Strategic Sourcing (GGS), Retail Sales and Marketing (RSM) and Regional Generic Teams (RGT), create specific “go-to-market” pricing strategies and tactics for customer segments/ channels. In working with GSS/RSM/ RGTs, develop pricing programs for telesales capability execution. Create pricing dashboards and associated metrics and analysis for routine executive presentation including the communication of conclusions and recommendations. In working with GSS/RSM/ RGTs and Retail Business Development Directors (RBDD), maximize price responsiveness processes and associated metric objectives. In working with GSS/RSM/ RGTs and RBDDs, form recommendations for new product pricing and monitor pricing post-launch for specific actions to be taken. In working with GSS/RSM/ RGT’s, RBDD’s and Corporate/ Regional Finance, manage specific sell-side generics margin metric objectives. Maximize the use of third-party payor reimbursement rates in conjunction with related channel pricing strategies and new product launches. Create competitive information library for both competitive pricing and program activities including but not limited to competitive organizational information and associated materials. Create and distribute a monthly competitive update report to GSS/RSM/ RGTs and RBDDs. Utilize third-party market information to assess and communicate competitive market share information by business channel. Own and develop the quarterly competitive assessment process including but not limited to the use of customer/ field advisory teams, surveys, and intelligence gathering. In working with RSM/ RGTs, RBDDs, responsible for the development and routine update of competitive selling materials and customer facing documents. Responsible for all associate relations functions for direct reporting staff including hiring, terminating, performance management, development and training. Monitors department expenses and reinforces the need to adhere to fiscal year budget. Complies with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations. Performs related duties as assigned. Experience and Education Requirements Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor’s degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education; normally requires a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years related and progressively responsible experience. Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements Working knowledge of successful strategic, consultative selling and market research techniques and related information. Understanding of AmerisourceBergen’s supply chain management policies and procedures. Outstanding negotiating skills; ability to deal with confrontational situations in a positive manner. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain business relationships. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across an organization. Outstanding problem solving skills and ability to apply the appropriate tools and level of analysis to a specific situation. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to interpret financial data of chain sales and develop successful strategies to deal with financial issues that are identified. Ability to interpret industry trends and competitive information and develop strategies and tactics to respond to changes in the marketplace. Strong analytical and mathematical skills. Strong organizational skills; attention to detail. Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices. Strong computer skills in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs.
