Principal Mechanical Engineer / DFMA

Principal Mechanical Engineer / DFMA Baxter International Inc., assists healthcare professionals and their patients with the treatment of complex medical conditions, including cancer, hemophilia, immune disorders, kidney disease and trauma. The selected Individual will work closely with Manufacturing and Product Development to provide input in Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) as it relates to product design & manufacturing processes. Individual to help guide the team in efforts to simplify design, improve quality and reduce manufacturing and assembly costs. The individual must be able to quantify the improvements.The candidate will also support the plants in their efforts to reduce costs, increase throughput & improve quality the implementation of DFMA methodology. QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. Mechanical Engineering degree coupled with 5 - 8 years related DFMA experience. Candidate must display a solid understanding of a broad range of engineering principals. Ability to convince management on courses of action with minimal assistance using both written and verbal methods. Working knowledge of CAD---Autocad and/or Solidworks preferred Operate effectively with cross-functional teams. Must be able to provide solutions that reflect understanding of both business objectives and cost implications.
