To assist us with the growth of our contact lens business, we are seeking a Principal Scientist (Toxicology) to: Represent Toxicology discipline on a project team and facilitate communication of safety issues to and from project team members. Develop and manage preclinical safety studies in collaboration with project teams. Ensure timely reporting including interpretation of results. Provide summaries of safety information for submissions to regulatory agencies. Recruit and qualify contract research organizations (CRO's) in support of development goals. Facilitate execution of GLP preclinical studies in support of product development goals. Be a team player and able to function in multitasking environment. Qualified candidates for this position will have: Ph.D. in Toxicology, Pharmacology or related Medical Sciences. Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industry working as a team representative and/or study director involved in designing and managing of preclinical animal studies and interpretation of study data for new drug candidates or medical devices. Previous experience working in drug discovery or investigational toxicology is an advantage. Duties will include the design, monitoring and reporting responsibilities for investigational and GLP safety and efficacy studies. Experience in working with contract laboratories to develop and conduct preclinical studies in accordance with FDA, ISO, and international regulatory agencies guidance is a plus. Demonstrated expertise in providing preclinical safety and efficacy documentation in support of 510k, IND/NDA or PMA submissions. Experience with ocular pharmaceuticals or devices is an advantage.
