Under very limited to no supervision and at times independently, works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required to solve problems and make recommendations. Provides guidance, training and direction to less seasoned employees. Applies non'standard electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, optical or test technician duties in such areas as manufacturing, maintenance, quality, testing, engineering, where considerable judgment and initiative is required. Constructs, inspects, calibrates, adjusts, tests, documents and maintains equipment, components, devices and systems. A minimum of AA in a relevant discipline is required for this position. A minimum of 6 years of experience in a relative discipline is also required for this position. This position also requires a minimum of 2 years experience with Industrial Design. Candidates who have experience working with ALIAS are preferred. Candidates are required to have in-depth experience as a Designer/Technician in two or more of the following disciplines ' electronics, mechanics, production, electromechanical, test, quality, industrial, or bio'medical production. (It is anticipated that incumbents achieve this level through extensive experience rather than formal education.) Previous or current experience in the medical device industry would be an asset. Candidates are required to have the ability to use the most sophisticated test and measurement equipment associated with specific discipline. As well as read and understands complex technical documentation associated with specific discipline. Candidates are required to posses an in-depth ability to use PC's and associated sophisticated software. Thorough knowledge of company and related product. Ability to read, write, communicate and understand English. Candidates must have successfully completed company/department training courses in manufacturing techniques, and possess a thorough knowledge of lab maintenance, setup and functionality. Candidates are required to have a thorough and in-depth understanding of regulatory requirements (GMP and ISO).
