Process Development, Research Associate/Senior Research Associate

Occupation: Biotech/R&D/Science Description: Pacific Biosciences is looking for a Process Development, Research Associate/Senior Research Associate responsible for performing laboratory functions associated with process development and pilot manufacturing. This work will involve process optimization, methods development, stability studies, component and process characterization, and pilot manufacturing. Other responsibilities are lab/equipment set up, calibration and maintenance. The core technologies applied to this position are in enzyme characterization, formulations, surface modification, DNA preparation and DNA Sequencing. Key analytical technologies are HPLC, GPC, UV/Fluorescent Spectroscopy, Gel and CE Electrophoresis and Enzyme Activity assays. The individual will need to interface with a broad range of organizational groups. Position Requirements:• B.S., and/or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or related scientific discipline. • A minimum of two years of relevant industry experience in Life Sciences, Medical Devices, Diagnostics or Pharmaceuticals. • Knowledgeable in methodologies associated with molecular biology based products. • Prior experience in key analytical technologies, such as HPLC, GPC, UV/Fluorescent Spectroscopy, Gel and CE Electrophoresis and Enzyme Activity assays • Able to design effective experimentation plans.
