Process/Laboratory Technician

Job Purpose:

Develops nutraceutical products by researching techniques, procuring raw materials, setting-up, cleaning, and operating lab equipment and instruments; performs scale up of bench top processes; assists in the setup and troubleshooting of full-scale manufacturing.



Duties:

*Researches vendors for procurement of raw materials, manufacturing equipment, and laboratory instruments; cost analysis and comparison of equipment and materials; purchasing equipment and supplies necessary for manufacturing/testing of product.

*Researches techniques for new processes and analytical methods.

*Develops new processes and evaluates current processes.

*Performs scale up and provides analytical support to manufacturing and R&D.

*Assists in the implementation of SOP’s in the laboratory and manufacturing.
* Maintains safe and clean work environment by following current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), and standard operating procedures; complying with legal regulations; monitoring environment.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.

* Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.


Skills/Qualifications:

Must have experience in chemistry laboratory setting (QC/R&D) and be familiar with instrumentation.

Must have experience in an FDA regulated industry and be familiar with cGMPs as it concerns foods.

BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other related technical discipline.

Prefer experience working within a manufacturing support setting.

General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
