Processing Project Engineer

The primary role of the Processing Project Engineer is to provide engineering support for analysis, design, purchase, modification, installation, and start up of processing production, facility equipment and systems. Analyzes production and facilities operations/issues, performs necessary engineering design and layout, prepares cost estimates and makes recommendations to meet specific project needs. Prepares capital expenditure requests for new or modified packaging, process or facility equipment and systems. Investigates, evaluates and selects equipment and system components necessary to meet project requirements. Prepares work specifications and negotiates contracts for work to be performed by outside contractors. Coordinates/directs the work of internal and external contractors to insure quality completion of project and adherence to all applicable codes, regulations and policies. Coordinates the installation and start up of new equipment with operations, contractors and vendors. Initiates and drives the focus on improvements in area of cost, waste, and line efficiency. Provides Engineering support to Processing and Operations Teams. BS degree in Chemical Engineering discipline, with 3 yrs or more experience in consumer products or related chemical industryWorking knowledge of CAD, Microsoft Office, Project Management SoftwareWorking knowledge of motor controls, sensors, pumps, piping, basic electrical power distribution, and PLC capabilities.Working knowledge of acceptable chemical safety practicesExcellent Organizational and follow up skills.Experience with continuous improvement techniques and analysisAbility to manage multiple project assignments concurrently.Project Management skills including; planning, scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, design & layout, selection/supervision of Contractors.Good communications and presentation skills.Able to work effectively in Team environment.Committed to continuous learning.
