Procurement Manager

Job Purpose:

Supports several manufacturing plants by managing staff; pricing, evaluating, negotiating, and obtaining materials.

Duties:

* Maintains procurement staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.

* Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

* Manage and develop suppliers.  Set up and maintain blanket agreements.

* Sustains competitive product pricing by negotiating material costs; discovering new sources and implementing cost savings ideas to achieve raw material budget.

* Procures materials and supplies by establishing optimum inventory levels; reordering quantities

* Define, develop and implement procurement processes throughout the organization.  Lead global procurement projects that will lead to savings and efficiencies.

* Maintains quality service by following organization standards.  Provide timely and accurate monthly forecasts.

* Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.

* Ensure compliance to SOX, ethics and other policies.  Support ISO audits and certification needs.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Strong analytical skills.  Good financial  and negotiation skills.  Proven track record in delivering year to year cost savings.  Ability to develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies.  Strong team player.

Bachelors degree in business or engineering.

Preferred, MBA
