Product Engineer

Provide technical support to our country organizations worldwide, prepare and conduct service trainings and maintain the service documentation.

To achieve these tasks successfully, a close contact to specialists of R&D and production departments is necessary.

 

·  Systematically analyze and document problems in the field and investigate their root cause. Design, manage and implement solutions or interim countermeasures and workarounds for our affiliates around the world.

·  Accept and investigate requests from the affiliates, if necessary in close contact with other specialists from R&D, Quality, Marketing and Manufacturing using Clarify system

·  Design and deliver training sessions for service trainings taking place inhouse at 454 or abroad on special requests

·  Prepare and maintain training materials & resources

·  Develop comprehensive training program, create training material and tools in accordance with pedagogic principles, and in compliance with intended product use

·  Plan and carry out field visits to support affiliates where necessary

·  Maintain regular contacts to affiliates worldwide and take care of visitors (also beyond regular working hours)

·  Life cycle management of service and product documentation

·  Gather information and establish extensive knowledge about the systems developed by 454 Life Sciences

 

Requirements

 B.Sc. in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or extensive equivalent work experiencePreferably general understanding in biology, e.g genome sequencingExperience in Linux is a plus Must be self-motivated, highly detail-oriented and organized and capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a very dynamic environmentAbility to write technical texts in a concise and clearly structured style
