Job Summary:•To identify, manage and deliver global customer centric breakthrough services and portfolios, via the Human Factor (IDEO) methodology; best practice life cycle management and profitability for services line. •To identify & leverage functional expertise in R&D and Operations to deliver best in class services. Accountabilities:•Contributes to the successful delivery of services from conception to launch.•Contributes to the P&L of the businessMeasures: •Revenue/Profit 15%•Customer Retention 80%•Market Share 20%Develop service strategies including: 1) the strategic fit of services, 2) pricing strategy, 3) trade marking, 4) service discontinuation strategy, 5) initial go to market strategy. Assist in the determination of services formats, the brand promise (message/value proposition) and ongoing service profitability.Gather and interpret data including VOC to determine competitive landscape; market size/growth; IP landscape; initial forecast; COGS analysis; initial financial analysis (ROI); price variables; margin & profitability; cannibalization effects. Conduct system vital fews; write service specs, service claims content; work with R&D & Ops on determining service configuration, freedom to operate. Determine line extension pricing, list pricing (including annual list price) determination, service name, discount guidelines. Recommend discontinuation plan, needs for beta test/early access. Create & provide Tech Service/Customer Service training. Organize sampling program at launch. Determine service plan warranty; Purchase research reports (secondary services). Commission research reports via centralized function. Execute according to market research objectives. Act as project planning manager. Develop & write service/SKU content.Program management:Has wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts, has advanced in-depth knowledge of Invitrogen’s business, competitors and industry practices and functional knowledge of strategic business planning.Required: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline. 7 years experience in a service development role.Preferred: MBARequired: Has proficient to thorough understanding of service development. Knowledgeable of biotech industry and competitors.Required: Ability to work on problems of routing to diverse scope. Identifies problems, answers questions, gain cooperation of others and implement efficient solutions. Develops and presents formal management presentations.
