Position Description:

Job Objective:Due to our success and growth, we are looking for an experienced Product Manager- DNA Analysis Products. This newly created position will have direct responsibility for Illumina’s GoldenGate Genotyping products on BeadArray and BeadXpress platforms. The individual will have the opportunity to interact with the R&D, sales, engineering, customer solutions, and manufacturing departments to build market-driven solutions ensuring successful product launches in these specific high–value and rapidly growing market spaces. This Product Manager position requires both strategic and tactical market planning elements required to grow and expand Illumina’s GoldenGate Genotyping business. Responsibilities:• Work with the company’s senior management team and marketing teams to define the overall strategic direction for Illumina’s GoldenGate Genotyping business. • Manage the product life cycle, including product inventory, improvements, new applications, and product obsolescence.• Analyze and segment various global markets to determine compelling value propositions, competitive positioning, most desirable product attributes and trade-offs, pricing and sales forecasts• Evaluate and communicate internally all competitive threats, strengths and weaknesses; represent the “voice of the customer”• Lead the team to plan and execute all new GoldenGate Genopytping product launches, including preparation of training materials, collateral, product ordering process, technical information, sales presentations, etc.• Ownership over products’ gross margins and revenue targets to meet the company’s business plan• Provide input to Technical Writing staff on marketing literature, review and contribute to web content.• Provide key support and training to Sales and participate in the selling process for large deals• Work with R&D on Product evolution and next generation applicationsRelationships and Roles:• Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees. • Build trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity. • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values. • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments. Job Specifications:• Masters Degree in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Physics or equivalent is preferred. PhD a plus.• MBA is desirable.• 3+ years of Product Marketing experience in the life science industry • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to work as a member of a multifunctional team• Strong organizational skills and planning ability• ~25% Travel
