The candidate will be responsible for product management aspects of Bio-Rad's amplification instrument product lines, which include thermal cyclers and real-time PCR systems. Responsibilities will include directing the development of market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s). This includes involvement in the development of business plans and product positioning in the market place, conducting market research and monitoring competitive activity. The role also includes the development of effective relationships with R&D and manufacturing groups to develop new products or to enhance existing products or product lines. The successful candidate will be able to act as an effective technical advisor/consultant for specific assigned products and cooperate with selling divisions to support tactical marketing plans, sales strategies and training programs. Candidate must have a strong background in the life sciences; a minimum of a BS/BA degree is required with a working knowledge of molecular biology.5+ years related experience or equivalent in biotech sales, marketing or lab environment is required. Requires demonstrated planning / organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Public speaking and presentation experience is a plus. Knowledge of thermal cyclers, PCR and real-time PCR technologies/markets highly desired.
