Position Description:

Job Summary: The Production Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the routine maintenance and repair of equipment in a micron glass bead and oligonucleotide production facility. This position is for either 2nd or 3rd shift hours weekdays and possibly weekends.Job duties/responsibilities include but are not limited to:•Operating and working on various commercial and in-house designed liquid handling robots, laser/optical systems, and automated material/sample handling platforms.•Complete scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance tasks for all equipment used in the production areas, including a high-power UV laser writing system and proprietary semi-automated parallel oligonucleotide synthesizer.•Respond to manufacturing or emergency repair request and complete repairs needed to return equipment to production operations.•Identify causes to equipment problems related to equipment repair requests through effective trouble-shooting techniques.•Provide on-call shift support to manufacturing areas, as needed, to achieve continuous maintenance support to production schedule.•Recording and reporting shift work details in maintenance tracking software, as well as to other maintenance team personnel.•Contribute to the continuing improvement of maintenance methods and procedures and be involved in projects to improve equipment performance and reliability.•Maintain spare parts inventory for equipment preventive maintenance and repair tasks.•Adhere to all group and company quality and engineering system's guidelines and procedures for completing manufacturing equipment maintenance and repair tasks for all assigned areas.Education and Experience:•Qualified applicants must, as a minimum, have a technical school degree (A.S. or its equivalent) or 3+ years' experience working with laboratory or industrial equipment in the biotech, pharmaceutical or semiconductor industries. •Basic to intermediate computer skills and understanding of Microsoft based applications for equipment operation and maintenance task completion. •Experience maintaining and/or trouble-shooting equipment in a laboratory-scale or high volume manufacturing setting is a plus.•Experience using digital multi-meters, pressure gauges, analog/digital sensors and other related measurement equipment is a plus.•Experience working on laser/optical bench alignment or laser hardware assembly is a plus.•Experience and understanding on how to work with hazardous materials which may include combustible gases, corrosive liquids and gases, and acids is a plus.•Require self-motivated individuals that work well independently and in a team setting and have an eagerness to learn.
