SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates activities of the production department in processing materials or manufacturing products for clinic diagnostic testing kits by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

·  Plans production operations and schedules, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.  Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

·  Controls the processes related to production, and coordinates with management to achieve organizational objectives, oversees maintenance activities of production equipment, identifies training needs, and infrastructure needed to improve the performance of processes economically.

·  Ensures staff orientation to customer focus and plans production activities to meet customer and regulatory requirements.

·  Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.

·  Maintains all activities within the framework of National and International Standards. (FDA, ISO)

·  Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

·  Performs statistical analysis of scraps/wastages in manufacturing and presents data in Management review meeting.

·  Manages all Production resources to include people, inventory (finished goods and work in process), machinery and equipment.

·  Monitors training and performance records for all assigned personnel.

·  Maintains the appropriate number of Production employees by conducting interviews, counseling sessions and terminations.

·  Monitors the safety program.

·  Coordinates with Quality Control and Customer Service to determine Production requirements.

 

·  Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. 

·  Reviews all machine maintenance records.

·  Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

·  Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to the President for action.

·  Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data by using Access and Macola computer programs.

·  Where required by contract Production Manager performs review of requirements and planning to meet the orders.

·  Production Manager is also responsible for planning and conducting design and development activities as a member of product development team.
