SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the VP, Marketing & Project Management - Extremity Reconstruction, this position is responsible for the successful planning, management and execution of product development and project transfer projects within the Integra Extremity Reconstruction Division. This position plans, coordinates and leads the execution of the activities of product development projects to ensure that the product development goals and objectives are accomplished within the PD-001 product development process, prescribed timeframe and funding parameters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Participate in the identification and assessment of relevant technology and product opportunities and translate the opportunity into viable business assessments and development projects.
· Develop effective relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to guide and support product development activities.
· Regularly attend and witness surgical procedures related to the products under development.
· Manage product development programs in accordance with established Integra Product Development processes and procedures.
· Serve as a leader motivating and driving cross-functional team performance toward achieving the common goal of completing the project according to the defined objectives, on time and within budget.
· Manage cross-functional team coordination, communications and expectations throughout the project.
· Effectively implement problem solving skills and techniques to identify potential issues, assess their impact, and develop and implement mitigation and resolution plans and activities.
· Prepare and/or manage the preparation of all required “design control” project documentation.
· Develop detailed project plans and schedules using MS Project.
· Prepare project proposals with marketing and development support, which may include business assessments, project costs, resource requirements, detailed project timelines and quality objectives.
· Employ excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with all levels of personnel and management to facilitate information flow between team members and senior management.
· Facilitate and coordinate project team meetings and management presentations as required.
· Perform all other related duties as required.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in a medical device business or science related discipline from an accredited university or college. Advanced degree(s) in Business Administration or related engineering discipline(s) is desirable.
· A minimum of 5 years of product development or marketing experience, preferably from within the medical device industry. An additional 1-2 years of Project Management related experience operating within Design Control procedures is a plus.
· Demonstrated aptitude for successfully managing multiple projects, of varying complexity, within the specified guidelines, timeframes and budgets.
TRAVEL:
· Domestic and International travel required as well as travel to and attendance at Medical Device Industry related events throughout the U.S. and Europe.
· Must be able to travel via car and/or airplane to domestic and international sites.
