Yoh Engineering has a contract opportunity for a Project Engineer / Packaging to join our customer in the Lebanon, PA area.Position Purpose: The individual would be responsible for preparing, submitting, obtaining approval, and implementation of assigned capital projects at this location. The ideal candidate would be responsible for managing inside and outside resources for implementation of these projects. The individual would serve as the engineering technical liaison between the production department and the MEU Department and acts as a technical consultant to the production departments. Major Contributing Activities: May include, but not limited to, the following: • Manage assigned capital projects up to $6.0MM. The projects can be for any department at the site. (Projects will include a $6mm packaging line and the relocation of 4 existing lines) • Prepare and implement Installation and Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ) protocols for new equipment installation validation. • Act as Team leader for interdepartmental project teams. • Audit equipment vendors, construction services and engineering contractors and make recommendations regarding in-house or external work. • Prepare equipment specification documents and leads negotiations for new equipment purchases. • Provide input for capital budget preparation. • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.Primary Customers: • The candidate’s primary customer is Packaging Engineering. • The candidate must balance the requirements of customers and provide technical guidance and support for the production maintenance staff. • This individual must support other departments in the validation documentation and implementation process for new equipment installations. • The candidate must provide updated engineering drawings and documentation to the site engineering team in a timely manner. • The individual must make regular contact with all levels of employees within the departments on the site. He/she must demonstrate a high level of facilitating skills to reach consensus. Presentations to site management are sometimes required to obtain project approval. • The position requires frequent contact with outside vendors, suppliers and with other company sites.Context: • The candidate would be the technical liaison to the production department and interfaces in the daily work activities of the production maintenance staff. Quick identification of solutions for production related technical problems are very important for meeting production goals. The incumbent must provide competent and timely technical analysis to the production areas in order to properly evaluate and implement technical solutions. • Proper performance of this job is necessary in order to manage the capital project budget and meet the business needs of each production area. Lack of timely submittal of capital projects may impact the planned capital improvement plan for the production area. • The individual is responsible for the IQ/OQ validation process for new projects. Failure to complete the validation process in a timely or thorough manner may lead to non-compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) regulations. Skills and Experience Needed: • BS Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical, with at least 6 years experience in a government regulated industry; or an “MS” Degree and at least 4 years as specified above; or a PHD and at least 2 years of experience as specified above. • At least 3 years pharmaceutical industry experience in Packaging (Processing) engineering (including equipment selection, installation and qualification/validation) is required. • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, plus good organizational skills are required. • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines required. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with a strong focus on customer needs required. • Good computer skills are required.
