With a deep and broad pipeline of potential new medicines, we continue to advance science to serve patients.We currently have OCP Project Manager opportunities available in the Ongoing Change Program (OCP) organization supporting each of Amgen’s functional areas: Operations (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Process Development, and/or Engineering) R&D (Research, Development and Commercialization) Corporate Functions (Finance, IS, HR and Legal) Global Commercial Operations (Sales, Marketing and Global Health Economics – GHE) The Ongoing Change Program attracts a diverse group of high-performing professionals who focus on critical, high-visibility business issues. The OCP Manager position plays a key role in leading and managing all aspects of OCP process improvement initiatives and projects across key Amgen business functions, which can include initial scoping and team chartering, project strategy and management, change management and communications, stakeholder management and execution. OCP staff members gain competency and certification in all OCP methodologies (Catalyst Facilitation, Accelerated Change Tools and Lean or Six Sigma) and are expected to drive process improvements via the proper application of OCP tools in order to ensure quality and timely results. OCP staff members work on cross-functional projects that provide them with a broad perspective of the company. This experience gives each individual invaluable insight for determining the next step in his/her career within Amgen. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage on high-priority process improvement initiatives and projects across Amgen - Provide change management assistance to projects facing organizational or major process changes- Deliver quality and timely results via the use of appropriate OCP tools and other key domain expertise - Provide mentorship to functional area leadership and project teams - Serve as the primary project interface to customers, project champions/sponsors and steering committees.- Identify and work with project sponsors to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful completion of projects - Provide project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on OCP projects to key clients - Establish contacts with external organizations for benchmarking and best practices identification - Work with business leaders/key process owners to develop strategies and plans for improving respective businesses - Facilitate productive relationships between Corporate Ongoing Change Program and other Amgen departments- Become certified in: Accelerated Change Tools (ACT) methodology Catalyst Facilitation and lead facilitation sessions Lean process improvement methodology or Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt• 2 or more years of experience in consulting, strategy, process improvement, change management or business analysis.• 1 or more years of experience in managing and/or supporting projects in the area of strategic planning, business process re-engineering, organizational design, and change management.• Bachelor’s DegreePreferred Qualifications:• Master’s Degree (i.e. MBA, MS, etc.)• Facilitation experience• Knowledge of process improvement and change management methologies.• Healthcare, pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience.Additional Competencies and Skills:• Effective leadership skills applicable to dynamic, learned and diverse teams• Strong strategic thinking skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to interact with all levels of management • Effective organizational and creative problem solving-skills• Strong influencing and negotiation skills • Effective project management skills • Self-starter with a high level of initiative Amgen is the leading human therapeutics company in the biotechnology industry.
