In conjunction with Information Technology and business users, this position is responsible for assisting in assuring that application software systems meet customer requirements and expectations, following company standards and processes, and continuous improvement occurs in overall system integrity and quality. The QA Analyst will design, document and implement test plans for new projects, report and manage defects, verify software fixes for new and existing products, assist development with replicating and debugging problems and develop test automation solutions as needed. The successful candidate will possess strong technical and programming/test automation skills; and have experience testing enterprise-class system software packages.II. Accountabilities• Provide technical and functional support within the testing organization.• Assist in test plan strategy for each release.• Develop test plans and test summary reports. Coordinate and/or perform the execution of test plans.• Participate in Software Requirements Specifications and high level and detailed designs reviews• Confer with project managers, developers, analysts and others to clarify software intent, business and system requirements.• Review system functional and non-functional requirements and create test cases to ensure overall quality.• Design and develop detailed test cases for functional and regression testing.• Facilitate test case peer reviews with project and business team members• Develop requirements traceability matrix to ensure appropriate level of test coverage• Identify, analyze and document all defects and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specifications by providing meaningful defect reports within the defect tracking system (Quality Center)• Be responsible for the analysis, reporting and communication of test results on all assigned projects• Provide meaningful feedback in regards to test coverage and overall measurement of the test effort• Assist in implementing improvements in test methods and strategies• Escalate quality concerns to management.• Perform execution of application software testing in coordination with teams that typically include managers, project managers, developers, customers, stakeholders, and sponsors. • Design and develop test automation scripts for future regression testing using Quick Test Pro.• Document, troubleshoot and isolate problems encountered during testing.• Assist in performance and load testing of software applications to understand capacity limitations, and ensure reliability of our systems.• Ensure reported incidents or defects are corrected, tested and formal signoff received.Job Requirements• Information Systems related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.• 4 - 5 years of testing experience.• Experience testing WEB, GUI or Mid-Frame environments.• Experience back-end and batch testing.• Experience development of test automation scripts and Quality Center.• Experience basic file comparison of raw data and data validation.• Knowledge of relational databases (DB2, Oracle, etc.)• Experience testing system interfaces.• Performance testing experience using Loadrunner is a plus.• A solid understanding of quality assurance as part of the development process.• Sound knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, and terminology related to software testing• High level understanding of Mid-Frame and Java environments. • Testing of Health or PBM applications is a plus.• Knowledge of multiple test platforms (host, mainframe, midrange, distributed, etc.).• Well versed in software development life cycle models and testing methodologies.• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities• Ability to work independently on multiple concurrent projects and manage priorities.
