RESEARCH AND TECHNICAL MARKETING ASSOCIATE:

 

JOB SUMMARY

The key function of this position is to support company teams involved in new product development, compliance and marketing.  This position reports to the Manager of Product Development and Technical Marketing.  As Irwin Naturals is a fast paced and rapidly growing company, success in this position hinges on an ability to prioritize within projects, quickly discern meaningful information from research and translate this information into a useable format for multiple company teams.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

§  Support product development activities including but not limited to product formulation, ingredient sourcing, research gathering and organization, claims and additional copy writing

§  Manage the sourcing of ingredient and product research for on-site library

§  Gather and interpret clinical research, summarizing key elements in spreadsheet and document format

§  Review industry articles and newsletters for new ingredients and innovative product ideas

§  Review and summarize consumer-focused health news for weekly internal newsletter, Health and Dietary Supplements in the Media

§  Assist in the sourcing of new and innovative ingredients

§  Maintain product-related paperwork including competitive analyses, ingredient research summaries and formulation drafts

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

§  Ability to read and interpret science-based articles and research studies

§  Proficiency in using online search engines to gather clinical research studies, supporting articles and additional online resources

§  Familiarity with medical terminology

§  Familiarity with research search engines PubMed, Natural Standard and American Botanical Council a plus

§  Technical and marketing-focused copy writing experience a plus

MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING/COMPUTER SKILLS

§  BS/BA in a science or health field

§  A minimum of one year experience research/document gathering

§  Proficiency required in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Internet

§  Education/Experience in nutrition and/or botanical medicine a plus
