Raw Materials Analyst

Position Description:

Raw Materials AnalystKV Pharmaceutical is seeking a Raw Materials Analyst to analyze samples which may include in-process material, finished products, raw materials, production stability samples and process validations using chemical, physical, and instrumental analytical procedures. The successful candidate will also analyze samples according to current methods to ensure the highest quality product, and monitor quality at every step within the process. We are seeking someone who can operate laboratory instrumentation proficiently, and report results in a complete and legible manner in a laboratory notebook and on the appropriate paperwork. You will also prepare reagent mixtures, standard solutions, volumetric solution, test solutions and indicators used for analysis following the proper procedures or re-standardize solutions as necessary. We are looking for someone who can train other analysts to perform new or unfamiliar testing procedures and techniques, and communicate with other departments as necessary to provide information regarding testing results, sample release or copies of documentation. In addition, you will check raw material testing results, calculations and documentation, release raw materials for production and R&D use by distributing the release sheet to the appropriate company personnel, generate raw materials status and backlog reports to distribute to the appropriate company personnel. The successful candidate will also receive the raw materials samples into the laboratory by logging them into the sample receipt logbook and in the INQAS sample screen. You will develop raw material methods for non-compendial samples and interface with the product manufacturers, perform physical or chemical testing on process validation samples, and perform special testing for R&D, PDI, ANR and Discovery Research as requested on raw materials samples and intermediate products. You will also calculate test results by using a computer (network or PC) for INQAS data entry, or turbochrom data collection.The successful candidate will have a B.S. in Chemistry or a related field with a minimum of two years laboratory experience. Experience with gas chromatography (GC), high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC), atomic absorption (AA), infrared spectrophotometer (IR), ultraviolet/visible spectrophotometer (UV/VIS), pH meter, analytical balance, melting point, apparatus, vacuum oven, refractometer, flurometer, viscometers, muffle furnace, polarimeter, alpine (air-jet) sieve apparatus, Ro-Tap apparatus, bulk density apparatus, distillations, titrations, cameras (for photomicrograms), centrifuge, micrometers, sonicator, mechanical shaker, conductivity meter, personal computer, dissolution apparatus, nitrogen content and chemical safety are required. The successful candidate will also have the ability to follow written procedures, work with little supervision and interface well with co-workers.
