Position Description:
The Reliability Maintenance Engineer is a key stakeholder for the life cycle management of all equipment and systems on site. This includes being the Maintenance liaison for equipment/system modifications and PM review/modification, to improve operation, uptime, efficiency, etc., or to decrease parts usage, specific breakdown type, labor hours and equipment cost of operation. Also, the position will include being a liaison with the Engineering department where it will be required to review all new projects for long term maintenance needs. This will include such things as equipment, parts usage, (both manufacturer/model and application), maintenance access, training assessment needs, installation correlation to design (or the subsequent documentation with as built drawings and commissioning), spare parts recommendation, preventative maintenance requirements (along with the need for any special tooling and labor requirements).Through individual contribution and leading teams, utilize RCM tools, the CMMS, other historical data, and industry best practices to determine and implement optimum equipment maintenance strategies and work processes. This includes equipment definition/hierarchy, criticality of equipment, maintenance strategy development, and spare parts.Develop, Implement, and manage the Predictive Maintenance program to incorporate cost effective predictive technologies where appropriate.Apply engineering theory, practices and principles to determine root cause of equipment failures and to perform equipment performance evaluations.Work with Project Engineering to develop and manage the Site Engineering Standards. Be the primary Maintenance Liaison with Project Engineering to prevent long term maintenance issues on projects and ensure that the projects adhere to the Site Engineering Standards.Trains, appraises and has some involvement in development of employees. Make recommendations on hiring, termination, promotion and salary adjustment.Requires advance planning and frequent coordination with other departments. Decisions are limited to setting own priorities and establishing methods for accomplishing own work within clearly specified policies and procedures. Unsatisfactory decisions can be readily detected and rectified.Decisions require interpreting and acting on established policies and procedures that may require occasional interpretation within a defined unit.
