Position is in the Cell Culture Process Development Department. Requires Cell Culture experience and knowledge working with mammalian cell lines. The Hayward facility is responsible for the development of processes and manufacture of therapeutic proteins for clinical use in support of a Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) in addition to Baxter products. Incumbent will be required to work independently as part of a small team performing all aspects of cell culture related procedures. This includes cell banking, flask cultivation, and use of cell expansion systems and small-scale bioreactors in addition to related analytical procedures e.g. automated cell counters, Guava and flow cytometry. These activities support the development of cell culture manufacturing processes that will be transferred to GMP manufacturing. Execution of multiple projects with variable requirements will require independent planning of activities and coordination with team members. Strong teamwork and flexibility is essential to accomplish goals. QUALIFICATIONS: Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture using small and large scale stirred tank bioreactors, controllers, data acquisition and other associated instrumentation. Flexibility and strong teamwork skills are essential. In addition an in-depth knowledge and understanding of GMP and related regulations and guidance is desirable.
