Research Associate, Assay Development

Aveo is seeking an experienced Research Associate who will work on development and implementation of a broad range of in vitro and cell-based assays to support the generation and characterization of therapeutic antibodies for the treatment of solid tumors.

 

The successful candidate is expected to have experience in developing, optimizing and performing various assay formats such as ELISA, flow cytometry, and cell-based bioassays in a drug discovery environment. Strong experience in mammalian cell culture as well as biochemical methods are required. Knowledge of standard molecular biology techniques such as sub-cloning, vector design, PCR, transient and stable transfection is desired. Experience with manipulating small rodents is a plus.

The successful candidate must be well organized and able to work independently to plan and execute experiments. Problem solving and multi-tasking skills are required, as is the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.  The incumbent will enjoy opportunities to cross train, make visible contributions to a variety of projects, and interact closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists. 

 

Qualifications

-  BS/MS degree in life science or equivalent;

-  3+ years of laboratory experience;

-  Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and a desire to be a team player.
