Research Associate, Formulations

The candidate will work in the Formulation/Analytical Department of the Research and Development group supporting both in-house and outside collaborations in pre-formulation/formulation studies. This candidate will characterize formulated samples as well as drug substance/product with state-of-the-art analytical techniques.  In this position the candidate will be expected to carry out in-house formulation and analytical studies as well as interact with contract/collaboration labs.

Responsibilities Characterize drug substance with HPLC, LC-MS, MALDI-MS and other methods as per product specifications. Characterize drug substance and drug product for physical/chemical properties, degradation products, and impurities Formulate the drug product as per target product profile Analyze in-house formulated samples to generate analytical results Help manage external projects Participate in writing of study reports.

Qualifications  BS/BA with 5-7 years of experience or MS with 2-5 years in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry in a formulation/Analytical department.Experience with formulation studies, particularly for peptides and proteins Experience with analytical method development, qualification and transfer,Experience with HPLC, LC-MS, MALDI-MS, Experience with other analytical techniques such Karl-Fischer, TGA, Osmometer, Working knowledge of GLP/GMP and familiarity with FDA/ICH guidelines relative to drug substance/product characterization, Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite He/she should be authorized to work in the US without restriction.
