Location: US-CA-San Diego Job Reference Id: 1243   Description:Responsibilities: Vertex is seeking a talented individual to join our Core group in San Diego CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of stable cell line scale up and production in addition to maintaining multiple cell lines for use in high throughput screening. Duties will include thawing, validating, harvesting, counting and troubleshooting stable cell lines, as well as occasional execution of cell-based assays for quality control. Additional activities will include maintaining and monitoring the cell bank by processing cell requests, freezing cells into the bank, and performing QC on all new cell deposits. Other duties include media preparation and assay plate preparation, monitoring the inventory of cell culture supplies, and coordinating the ordering of supplies. The successful candidate will be required to work independently and contribute to the group. Weekend and holiday work as needed.Requirements: Candidate must have an AA/AS or equivalent scientific/technical experience in Biology above high school level. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience successfully maintaining multiple cell lines concurrently. In addition, assay development and optimization as well as familiarity with automation systems a plus. Apply Now
