Research Associate II/III

Responsibilities: Constructs antibody libraries for phage display and uses the libraries for the selection of antibodies that bind specific target proteins or cells Carries out cDNA cloning and engineering and the design of appropriate expression vectors for mammalian expression Uses various methods including PCR, ELISA and electrophoresis based to evaluate protein expression levels Carries out protein purification with both conventional and affinity based chromatography methods and provides proteins in support of in vitro, cell and in vivo studies Trouble-shoots experimental design and instrumentation Maintains accurate up to date laboratory records Provides regular research updates at team meetings Knowledge skills required for the position: Possession of strong practical and theoretical skills in molecular biology Capacity and enthusiasm for learning new techniques Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment F lexibility in assignments Capacity to muti-task on a variety of assignments ~ No Visa Sponsorship Available Education Requirement: BS or MS degree in biological or biochemical science Must have 5+ years of laboratory experience Notes: Alexion Pharmaceuticals is a publicly traded company engaged in the development of novel drugs for the treatment of hematologic disorders, autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular disorders and cancer.
