BioPhase Solutions specializes in recruiting talented professionals for San Diego's Scientific community. We’re in search of Research Associate in analytical chemistry.

 

Description:We are seeking a skilled and energetic Research Associate to join the Characterization Group. Perform and develop chromatographic, spectroscopic, biophysical and mass spectrometric methods for biopharmaceutical characterization. Responsible for generating, analyzing and documenting data, as well as, drafting of reports and presenting data. Laboratory operational responsibilities will also include instrument maintenance and other general laboratory support activities.

 

Requirements: Must have a BS degree in chemistry, biology or related field and at least one year of relevant experience in biopharmaceutical industry, contract research organization or in a similar setting. Laboratory experience in the physicochemical characterization of proteins and peptides is preferred. Must have experience with peptide/protein chromatographic method development/analysis (RP-HPLC, SCX-HPLC, or CE). Experience with mass spectrometric methods (LC/MS, MALDI/MS) with systems from Waters and Thermo is preferred. Experience in determination of biopolymer degradants (deamidation, oxidation, cleavage) is preferred. Experience in development/optimization and analysis of peptide maps is preferred. Experience with mass spectrometry systems from Waters and Thermo is preferred. Candidate must have strong troubleshooting and laboratory skills. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills are needed. Ability to work effectively in team projects and multi-project environment is required.
