The Cardiovascular and Metabolism Disease area of the Novartis Institutes of Biomedical Research is recruiting BS/MS level scientists who will assist in the design, expression and characterization of therapeutic proteins. The individuals will also assist in the design, expression and characterization of proteins for use in biochemical and biophysical assays to support lead optimization programs for low molecular weight compounds.QualificationsCandidates should have a B.S. or M.S. in Biochemistry or a related field and at least 2 years experience in an industrial or academic setting. Prior experience in protein engineering, antibody engineering or therapeutic proteins is desirable. The individuals should also have experience with the isolation, purification and characterization of proteins from bacterial, insect and/or mammalian expression systems. Prior experience with protein characterization by analytical and biophysical methods is desired. The individuals must be able to interact effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment and have good organizational and communication skills.
