We are seeking a Scientific Communications Liaison to support the President, Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (NIBR), with scientific/medical communication. This will be a pivotal role in shaping our internal and external scientific communications. Major responsibilities include the following: Develop scientific/medical communication content for the office of the President. Initiates scientifically-focused communication strategy in partnership with the President and an interdisciplinary team supporting how the President of NIBR communicates scientific and clinical information. Develops presentations and projects as assigned to support Presidents communication with targeted internal and external audiences -both scientific & non-scientific. Through Program Office, invites, investigates, and synthesizes emerging key scientific developments from internal sources and with external scientific collaborators.QualificationsPhD or MD with breadth of scientific and/or clinical experience. A minimum of 4 years relevant experience in scientific editing, writing, or presentation communications required. Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry experience strongly preferred. Well-rounded understanding of science and the drug-discovery process. Other qualifications:" Ability to synthesize scientific messaging and story telling (both verbally and visually) through active listening." Ability to distill complex scientific concepts into deliverable that is understandable to a sophisticated, yet non-scientific audience. " Produce quality communication end products.
