Codon Devices is seeking an innovative, versatile, and highly motivated protein chemist to join the Protein Engineering Group. We expect the candidate to have a proven track record in the fields of molecular biology, protein expression, purification, and characterization, including high-throughput technology. Experience in in-vitro evolution of functional proteins is preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills, and dedication to teamwork are a must.

 

Responsibilities

Work in close collaboration with a team of computational and experimental scientists to

·  Evaluate and develop new protein expression and purification systems

·  Apply automation and high-throughput methodology to protein production and characterization

·  Participate in selection of high-performance target-binding proteins and enzymes

 

Qualifications
PhD in a relevant field and 0–5 years of postdoctoral experience, or a MA and 5–10 years of relevant experience. Extensive experience with recombinant DNA technology, protein chemistry, biophysical characterization, and characterization of protein-protein interactions. Familiarity with protein modeling and design, yeast biology, mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, and cell-based assays is preferred. Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry is an advantage.
