Scientist / Sr. Scientist

Position Description:

AM Biotechnologies is seeking MS- or PhD-level laboratory scientist with a protein and DNA chemistry/biochemistry background who will work as part of our science team to develop innovative bead-based thioaptamer technologies for research, diagnostic, and therapeutic applications. Qualified candidates will have strong laboratory experience, a strong hands-on skill set, and a desire to devote most of their time to experimental efforts.  The successful candidate will enjoy working in the laboratory, be creative and forward thinking, approach challenges with an innovative attitude, enjoy solving technical problems and methodically exploring all plausible avenues for success.  Importantly, the candidate must be willing to learn and have a strong work ethic. Note that reimbursement of relocation expenses is not available for this position.

 

 

Qualifications: MS, PhD, or Doctorate in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, or nucleic acid chemistry, preferably with experience in protein chemistry and nucleic acid chemistryAt least 2 years work experience in the laboratory A demonstrated record of laboratory productivityDemonstrated ability to acquire skills in new technical areasAble to prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analysesAble to work with people with a wide variety of technical backgroundsApplicant must be eligible to work in the United States

The successful candidate will possess excellent laboratory skills in the following areas:  Biochemistry: protein labeling, purification, and characterization Molecular biology: synthesis and purification of oligonucleotides, PCR, sub-cloning, plasmid purification, DNA-protein bindingExperience with FPLC/HPLC, polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, gel shift assays, Biacore analysis, fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry are beneficialExperience with bead-based assays and librariesBasic organic chemistry experience is a plus
