 Position Summary

Cubist Pharmaceuticals has an immediate opening in the Discovery Microbiology group for a Research Scientist/ Senior Research Scientist.  This is a great opportunity for a strong scientist to contribute to multiple drug discovery efforts and initiate and manage scientific collaborations.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of novel anti-infective agents, including characterization of mechanisms of action and resistance, and provide scientific leadership to multidisciplinary project teams. 

 

 Qualifications

Education/Experience: A Ph.D. in microbiology, bacterial genetics, molecular biology, or related field is required, along with 2-5 years postdoctoral experience; industry experience required for Senior Scientist.  BS/MS with 5-10 years industry experience will also be considered.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of microbiology, biochemistry and genetics are required.  Demonstrated ability to work and creatively contribute in multi-disciplinary environments that stress teamwork and produce results.  Supervisory experience and project management experience both desirable. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
