Senior Compensation Manager
Responsibilities:The Senior Compensation Manager will be amongst a team of Consultants that support Genentech's business unit clients on compensation matters and programs in order to support the company goals and competitive practices. This position will support and participate in the design, development and administration of corporate programs including base pay, bonus, equity and executive compensation. The incumbent will provide the full-spectrum of compensation support to the Research and Product Development Department. This position will assess business objectives and work with executives, line management, HR Generalists and others in the Compensation Department to support those objectives. S/he will also assess compensation programs, policies and practices, present conclusions to appropriate management and make recommendations for action. This position will develop and conduct compensation training programs to familiarize managers and other employees with key elements of the company's compensation programs. S/he will serve as the technical expert in the assigned program area in Product Development. Requirements:The candidate must have a minimum of seven years of experience in all aspects of compensation. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of employees, including senior management, is required. Strong analytical skills are essential to this role. The incumbent must have the ability to obtain, present and discuss information and recommendations that may be controversial in nature. S/he must be capable of leading or influencing processes and decision making at a senior level. Other requirements include experience working in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment; project management skills; strong written, verbal and presentation skills; strong analytical and computer skills; and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. Strong background in one or more of the following is preferred: compensation consulting, international compensation and/or HR/compensation support in a R&D environment.
