Manages and further develops all company compensation, benefit, and immigration programs to attract, retain, and engage top talent and prepare for future workforce trends. Ensures company compliance with applicable federal and state laws. Evaluates potential areas of concern and develops solutions. Acts as primary interface with employees and vendors regarding all benefit, compensation, and immigration related questions and issues. Responsibilities:
§ Ensures compliance with government regulations including applicable documentation and timely reporting. Maintains a working knowledge of federal and state legislation which may affect compensation, benefit, and immigration policies. Manages statutory requirements relating to COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and worker’s ½ compensation
§ Administers company benefits programs including health and dental plans, 401k, worker’s ½ compensation, flexible medical and dependent care spending accounts, disability program
§ Acts as primary contact with employees regarding benefits questions, policy interpretation, and problem resolution. Conducts benefits orientations and coordinates paperwork and correspondence with employees, managers, payroll, and insurance vendors
§ Designs compensation programs, including the development of salary structures. Reviews salary ranges on an annual basis using market data, internal pay and equity, and appropriate practices to analyze Microbia’s ½ compensation position in the marketplace. Conducts job evaluations and salary surveys. Further develops incentive, stock option and potential bonus programs
§ Evaluates processes and policies relating to immigration, compensation, and benefit processes (eg: annual merit review, open enrollment, etc. ) while making continuous improvement changes
§ Manages relationships with consultants and out-sourced services providers Requirements:
§ B.S. in a related field, with a minimum of 10 years experience in the analysis, design, implementation, communication and administration of total rewards programs, including benefit & compensation programs. Must have extensive knowledge of state and federal laws (eg: FLSA, ERISA, FMLA ½) affecting employee comp & benefits
§ Thorough understanding of job classification practices, survey methods, and data analysis. Expertise with spreadsheet and database management applications
§ Must have excellent judgment, decision making, and problem-solving skills. Must have strong communication, organizational and follow-through skills
§ Interfaces with all levels of personnel including senior management
§ Negotiates with outside vendors and agencies
