Senior Data Analyst Work Location: Charlotte, NCShifts: Not ApplicablePositions Available: 1Position Summary The Sr. Data Analyst will work closely with team leaders, users, clients and IT staff to create reporting and analytic solutions that support the continued growth and expansion of our information services. This position will especially focus on report development in Microsoft Reporting Services as well as data analysis and extraction using SQL. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develop and execute recurring and ad hoc reports and queries utilizing a variety of reporting and analytic tools including MS Reporting Services, SQL and SAS. Perform advanced analyses using program specific data as well as third party imported data. Perform due diligence in coding and code-audit to ensure query language translates appropriately to meet internal and external client information needs. Validate and challenge business requirements through thorough data analysis and data investigation. Communicate with customers to understand their information needs and translate those into reporting requirements Implement on-going Quality Assurance and data integrity initiatives. Collaborate with clients, team leaders, users, and IS staff to develop and maintain program specific reporting solutions. Performs related duties as assigned. Experience and Education Requirements Requires some training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor's Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of five (5) years directly related and progressively responsible experience. Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements At least 3 years experience using reporting tools and 4 - 6 years experience using SQL. SAS knowledge a strong plus. Hands on experience with SQL programming, developing stored procedures, experience using cursors and functions as well as knowledge on report distribution/scheduling. Microsoft Reporting Services and/or VB experience highly desired. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented with ability to multi-task in fast-paced, cross-functional development environment. Strong focus on accuracy, timeliness and organization of work. Working knowledge of relational databases with a preference toward SQL Server, Windows environment and other Microsoft Office products including Access, Excel and Visio. Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation. Bachelor’s Degree in a business, mathematics, statistics or healthcare related field preferred or seven (7) years of equivalent healthcare research related experience. Masters Degree preferred. Management or equivalent leadership experience required. Inquisitive mind with a focus on exceptional quality in deliverables and work output.
