Summary

Xcellerex, Inc. seeks an Intellectual Property attorney with five to eight years experience to handle all aspects of its intellectual property matters.

 

Essential Functions

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·  Patent preparation

·  Prosecution and protection

·  Developing strategies in concert with others to commercially leverage the company's

  technologies.

·  Providing opinions on validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate

·  Counseling and educating business units on intellectual property matters as

  appropriate.

·  Performing due diligence on potential intellectual property acquisitions

·  Will work closely with engineers, scientists, the legal department and senior

management to develop, coordinate and enhance IP strategy and assist in implementing an IP program.



Required Skills/Experience

Minimum of 8-10 years experience; a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Science focus (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry); J.D. from an ABA accredited law school, graduating in the top 25% of class; Experience writing and prosecuting patents for biotech or pharmaceutical companies; experience with equipment, bioreactors and/or machines is preferred.
