To drive our ambitious expansion plans, we have created a Senior Director, Laboratory Sciences position in our new, state-of-the-art facility in Shrewsbury, MA, just 45 minutes west of Boston.

 

You will be responsible for directing the science, business and regulatory compliance of the Laboratory Sciences department, including bioanalytical chemistry and dose formulation analysis. You will also have responsibility for our satellite dose formulation analysis laboratories in Arkansas, Pennsylvania and Ohio. As a member of the Shrewsbury Site Management Team, you will have the opportunity to influence our overall business strategy and tactics.

 

You will provide scientific leadership and performance management to a large team of experienced scientists who share your passion for helping drive the development of new therapeutics. You will also promote sales and marketing activities and lead initiatives to improve quality, effectiveness and project profitability. You will partner with senior colleagues who lead our In-Life Sciences department (including toxicology, pharmacology and metabolism) to continuously develop improved processes and adapt enabling technologies to help support our customers’ needs to achieve the most complete and timely characterization of their therapeutics.

 

You must have a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline such as analytical or medicinal chemistry. Further, formal (post-doctoral) training in chromatography and /or mass spectroscopy is preferred. You must also show evidence of continued professional development, through impactful publications in peer reviewed journals and through presentations at scientific conferences. Management experience, including responsibility for performance management and development of scientists is also essential. You will have at least 10 years’ industry experience, to include participation as a senior member of a cross functional drug development team.  We expect you to have the proven ability to think “big picture,” with an emphasis on quality of science. Strong leadership skills, and the ability to influence and motivate are also essential. In addition, you must possess a sense of urgency and an entrepreneurial mindset. 

 

Familiarity with regulatory guidelines, including GLP requirements, is essential.  Superior oral, written and presentation skills are a must have.
